How to restore missing Control Panel Icons in Windows Vista

Issue: How to restore missing Control Panel Items\Icons in Windows Vista

If any of the icons are missing from Control Panel, by editing registry you can solve this issue.

To resolve this, open up regedit.exe

Click Start, type regedit and then open Registry Editor.

In Registry Editor, browse down to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don’t load

Once you are there, you will see a number of items in the right-hand pane. Make a backup of that key with the export function, and then delete away.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don’t load

Please note that whatever displayed under “don’t load” key will not be displayed in Control Panel.!!

May be it helps 🙂
