Issue: I need Vista/XP/Windows 7 Driver for device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4220
The device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4220 is for Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Wireless LAN. The Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection is the integrated Wireless LAN (WLAN) solution for Intel processor technology and desktop personal computers. The Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection provides freedom and flexibility to work and play without hunting for a phone jack, network cable, or plugging in a special card. The Vista Driver for Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG and 2915ABG is available in the Intel link:
Windows XP Driver for Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG is available in the Intel link:
Note: It works for Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, 2915ABG, 3945ABG, 4965AGN, WiFi Link 5100, WiFi Link 5300.
The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection is no longer being manufactured by Intel, nor will Intel provide any future software updates to support new operating systems or improve compatibility with third party devices and software products.
When I checked Intel web site there is NO Windows 7 drivers available for this WLAN device. So I would recommend you to install the Vista driver and check whether it works.
According to Intel web site “The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection and Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection are not supported on Windows 7” Damn 😦
If you would like to have more information on this WLAN device, please read the Intel web link provided below:
