Issue: Enable “Appear Offline” presence status in Microsoft Office Communicator

Appear offline option in Communicator

Appear offline option in Communicator

Solution:

I wanted to find whether we can enable “Appear Offline” option in Microsoft Office Communicator, when I searched online I found we could do it by either editing registry or changing the group policy settings using Gpedit. Now I have enabled  “Appear Offline” in my communicator. If anyone finding very difficult to fiddle with Windows registry, then you could just run the registry patch I have created (exported) from my Windows Vista Notebook. To create the registry patch, Open Notebpad, and copy paste below said script. Then save the file as Fix.reg then double click fix.reg file and merge it to the registry. If you do not how to save the script as registry patch, check the below said screenshot.

Save Registry file as Fix.reg
