Detailed solution and steps are available on my new blog, click here to read 🙂

On following Notebooks, there was an issue where,  when you try to perform system recovery, you  receive error code 0xc000000f and the error message “The boot It selection failed because a required device is inaccessible”.

When I checked driver download section, I find that there is a tool Fix for HP Multi-Partition Recovery Manager which says it fixes an issue where the winre.wim file was not placed on the recovery partition, and subsequently made F11 not available.

If any of you is experiencing the above said issue, please download “Fix for HP Multi-Partition Recovery Manager” from the below said link (File name: sp48415.exe (282 MB))

  1. Thanks, worked a treat. Annoyingly even the DVD backups made won’t boot either.

    • If the Notebook is in software warranty(usually 90 days), contact HP and ask whether they can provide recovery CD/DVD.

  2. Hi there, i have this problem, i downloaded the file, ran it, it extracted then a command promp window flashes on screen and then nothing happens, i restart the computer try again and still get the same error?

Ive updated all windows 7 updates, ive done a bios update via HP Assistant. (plus all HP updates) and im still having the same issue… im going crazy, all i want to do is create restore disk…
